Dugi Otok, i.e. the „long island”, is an absolutely calm, quiet, romantic island. The ideal place for those looking for unspoiled natural beauty and a peaceful vacation is the beautiful, harmonious, „rural” island of Dugi Otok, 114 km2 in size, 45 km long and with only 1,600 inhabitants, whose coastline is 171 km long. Dugi Island has 12 villages, most of which are inhabited by only a few elderly people. There is a road on the island, but it can also be explored by bike and on foot. It is also a prime destination for divers.
669 km from Budapest / approx. 8 hour journey, ferry from Zadar. The Zadar-Brbinj ferry runs three to four times a day during the summer months. It is difficult to get around the island without a car. Those who do not come by car should at least rent a bicycle or a scooter.
